I had never paid attention to the on the Go Quilt campaign, until this year when my friend Tammy tried to talk me into doing a quilt with her. She has been making on the go quilts for years with her mother and her sister.
My first stop was Pine Needles in Gardiner village. This block was actually the only block that I could make without appliqué.
I also found this adorable fabric in their store that I knew would make the perfect background.
This block was one of my favorites. The quilts and long johns are only attached at the top where the clothes pins are. I had to drive down to Mona to a store ran out of a basement in their home to get this block.
Here are some random blocks I made from Provo Cotton Shop, Christensen in Richfield, and My Girlfriends Quilt Shop in Midway.
The center block here was from a quilt shop in Salem that I have forgotten the name of.
While putting all these blocks together I was also drawing up the quilt on graphing paper, trying to figure out exactly how I wanted it to look. In this picture you can see the bee flying over a ruler, it was from Lora Lee's Rather Bee Quilting. The block was still missing all the fun flowers. The hot air balloon block on the side is from Floyd and Lizzies in West Jordan.
