Block of the month 2017

Each time a niece or nephew of mine graduate from high school I have given them a quilt as their graduation gift.  Sizes and patterns have varied a lot over the years.  When I started this, I had already had 3 of them graduate so one niece received the quilt when she graduated with her masters degree from U of U, a nephew received his quilt when he married last winter and now the oldest is getting married and so she to received her quilt as her wedding gift.

This quilt is Provo Cotton Shops 2017 block of the month quilt, made with Riley Blake fabrics (from a variety of different lines)

I free motion quilted this on my Babylock Aria machine.

I have one room in my basement that isn’t finished.  It is mainly a storage room, but I won’t let my husband finish it because this is where I baste them.  I duct tape them to the floor, using only the colored duct tapes ( they’re less sticky), and then pin them.

Jennifer and her husband John loved the quilt!

Arkansas Crossroad quilt

Years ago I made a quilt for my niece, it was an Arkansas crossroad quilt.  This became one of my favorite quilts ever.

Because I gave this quilt away, I never see it.  So, I decided to make this quilt for my youngest daughter Macey this past year for Christmas.    It is so easy to make, everything is just squares and HST’s, though they are very small.  I used a variety of fabrics, but the majority is Riley Blake fabrics.

Here I am sewing on one of the four borders!  I wanted this to be a large quilt that would cover the mattress well.

I machine quilted this on my babylock Aria, with a open faced darning foot.

I forgot to get good pictures of the quilt and it is made on her ‘top bunk bed’ so..... pictures aren’t the best.

This is the pillow sham that I have started to make for her bad.
